Ok, so maybe the title is a little exaggerated; but i still need your generous help.

I recently tried replacing the 'Pictures' short cut on my start menu so that it would link to 'Downloads' instead. So I changed the location, and it asked if I wanted to copy all of the picture files from the old location to the new location. I chose No. Now, everything from my downloads folder and pictures folder have both dissapeared. They are not in the Recycle bin, and none of the files are found during a system wide search. I have tried re covering these files through tune up utilites 2009 but that doesnt find them! so now, i have newly created folders in my area, and it also doesnt have the default picture which is a little annoying.

Does anyone know if there is a way to restore these files, or know where they may of gone ?

I hate Vista even more now.

Thanks in advance

Have you actually tried to navigate to C:\Users\YourUserName\Pictures to see if the pictures are there?

Do you remember the file name of any of the pictures within the folder? Perhaps performing a search would find them for you.

Vista did not delete your pictures...

A system restore may correct the problem...

Please dont blame the operating system for a problem you, the user yourself created... I now see how/why Vista has gotten such a bad rap....
