No administrative privileges on Administrator account?

Hello
I installed vista ultimate x64 on my PC. After a while, I ran into some programs that requested I run them on the Administrator account. Not wanting to have to right-click and select the option every-time I installed something, I decided to enable the Administrator account with the command I found on the net, namely net user administrator /active:yes
Restart, log into Administrator account, all is well. Naturally, not wanting to re-install all the programs, I simply copied the AppData, Documents and Desktop folders from the previous account over the ones in the Administrator account. All is well. I want to install a program and I receive the error message that I, the f-ing Administrator, don't have the privileges to install the program to it's pre-specified directory. So I go to the ProgramData folder (that's where most programs go) and check the Security properties. Administrators and System accounts have full permision enabled in every single sub-section of the option.
So, can somebody please explain how is it that I, logged in as an Administrator, need privileges to install something?
Just in case you're wondering, the programs in question are Nokia PC Suite and ESET Nod 32 Antivirus

I would like to know about this as well. I just installed Vista Ultimate x64 on my desktop and laptop. I found how to get it to stop asking me if I wanted to do something without turning off UAC which is good. But for crying out loud, I have the one and only account on the computer and it's an Administrator account.

I don't want Vista to EVER tell me that I don't have permission to do ANYTHING on my computer, or EVER tell me that Access is Denied for ANY REASON.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but I think we're kinda after the same thing here.

Indeed ;)
Also, I did try to manually select each folder and click the Take Ownership command from the right-click context menu and that did not work either. Is there a problem with the MSIs or something? Some stupid LaunchCondition like the OS restriction condition or something?
I'm a vista n00b so if I screwed up something somewhere, I'll take the blame, no problem. Just tell me so that I won't do it again. Personally, I hate it to bits! But... more and more of my customers are starting to use it and if I don't learn how to, I'm gonna run out of customers which is not good when you're freelance.
But enough with the side notes.
Does anybody know how to fix it?

"Taking ownership" of a file or folder seems like it only works if you go through the menu and tell it once, then go back and tell it to again. There should be a way to do this once for every file on the machine. One by one is ridiculous.

I just don't get it... I've spent all night and I still can't figure out what the hell is wrong with it. It is beyond belief that and Administrator doesn't have privileges. What?
Is there a God account hidden somewhere?

Whatever you do, DON'T go through and just try to take ownership with full control for all windows files. I tried to and FUBAR'd something. Had to reinstall the whole OS. It is quite maddening, isn't it..?

I don't understand why you made this (copying and moving files from one account to another)... If you have one account in Vista, it has Administrators permissions, so you CAN install programs. If you don't want UAC prompts, disable UAC.
I think you messed up Administrator permissions...
And it's not necessary to enable Administrator account...

I didn't do that. So, the short version is this : Some programs, mostly MSI installers started to complain that I didn't have privileges on my account, account created on the first install of vista. So I turned to the Administrator account and I have the same thing. Seeing as this is a first, troubleshooting it would be a pain...
What bothers me the most is that I play with an account's files and folders all the time on XP and it never said anything like this. I thought I hated vista before but this... how could they not think of a fail-safe to stop the administrator from, by some bizarre consequence (as it is in my case), having administrative privileges?
So, gonna format and re-install. What I believe happened is that the acount specific files (nt_user.dat, index.dat and so on) got copied over the Administrator's files and thus removed the administrative privileges that came with the Administrator account. That would seem to make sense, but it's kinda impossible as those files were already being used by the OS.
Whatever, just gonna re-install windows. Too tired, too upset...

That's why I said that you messed up Administrator account.
A reinstall should solve the problem.
Tell me if this will be successful ;)
