Solved Computer Keeps Freezing

Hey Guys!

Recently purchased a Dell Studio 540, I'm running Vista Home Premium 64bit.

My problem.
All was good until i tried to install my wireless adapter (D-Link). System runs ok but then freezes up about 5mins after initial start up. I can take the d-Link adapter out and i don't have this problem so I was thinking the D-link was causing all the problems.
I went and purchased an Edimax EW-7728ln wireless PCI Adapter. Installed but I'm still having the same problem, freezes up after initial start up:cry:

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hmmm...

If it just happened for one, I would say have you installed the latest driver - and does it support 64-bit. Edimax does, and the latest driver is August 2009.

Edimax USA

Do you have another network PCI adapter installed at the same time? If so, for the heck of it, pull that card. If it's on the mobo, just disable it in the bios.

Try that first and let me know.

Take care!

Working great now man!
I disabled the PCI adapter that was on the mobo and installed the latest driver for the edimax card. Seems to have fixed the problem. Cheers heaps for your help:D
