Vista boot loader

I had Win XP pro installed on my machine and have some programs that I cannot reinstall under Vista because I would have to buy another license, which I can't do right now.

I purchased a copy of Vista Home premium and installed it on a new hard drive and it will dual boot with XP. Everything is fine except the Vista bootloader is on the old drive. In vista the drive with Vista on it is c:, but if I boot into a partition manager (Acronis disk director) it shows the XP drive as C:. I had a problem with the XP drive and I disconnected it and I got a disk boot failure message. After I reimaged the drive and booted from it with the Vista drive unplugged and then plugged in the Vista drive everything was fine.

Is there a way to transfer the bootloader from the XP drive to the Vista drive. Eventually, I am going to want to get rid of XP and don't want to run into problems down the road.

Thanks

JOHN
