Having trouble installing other OS on a system running Vista

Hi,

I am trying to install Windows Server 2003 OS on my desktop which is running Microsoft Vista Home Premium edition.

But, it is failing with a blue screen and STOP message (looks like a core dump).

I tried many times and it is failing with the same error message. It was able to load all the required files from the CD and lastly it was saying starting Windows and then core dump with a blue screen.

I had reformatted my hard disk and tried. It was also failing. I had purchased a new internal hard drive and installed it and still it was failing.

So, I need a help here from any one who had similar issue and be able to resolve it.

Early response will be highly appreciated and thanks in advance for looking into it.

If you still have the OS on the system that blue screened and can get to C:\windows\minidump, zip the dump file (*.dmp) if it is there and upload it to us and we can tell you why server install is failing.

Thanks for your quick response. But, I couldn't find any file that you mentioned under c:\windows\minidump zip file.

But, I could see another file called dumprep.ex_. Do you think it will help you identify the issue? Please let me know.

System failure: Write an event to the system log and automatically restart both checked.

Dump file location it is showing as System root\MEMORY.DMP with Overwrite any existing file checked.

Hmmm, those seem fine. Another BSOD should show up there.
