How to turn off display when idle, but NOT lock screen (switch users)?

I'm sure this is possible. Right now in my Screen Saver settings I have unchecked the "on resume, display logon screen" checkbox. In my power settings, I have set the laptop to turn off the display after being idle for 10 minutes. However, everytime the display turns off for some reason it still locks the screen. What gives!?

(system: Vista Business x86)

There have been issues with this, and I can't remember what the solution was, but there's an extremely simple workaround (if you don't use a screen saver): set the wait time to a very high number (like 9999 minutes). It will never lock again.

You could also try changing your screen saver to either "Blank" or "None," and then resetting your power setting so the screen no longer shuts off at a particular time (because it's already "off").

See if this changes anything for you.

Goto: Control Panel > System > Power Settings > Click on the Blue text that says
change plan settings on the power plan you are currently using.

See attached picture for further instruction :)
