Listed programs

Programs listed in Programs are different than programs listed on the Install/change window.
1. What are the differences in these two program listings?
2. What determines where a program is listed?
Thanks

Hello Moose,

The Programs and Features (Control Panel) window will only include installed programs that have a uninstall option. Most do these days though.

I'm not sure what location you mean with "Programs". If you mean the C:\Programs Files folder, then the programs that come with Windows 7 will not be listed in Programs and Features.

Please post back with more details on that location so we can take a look to see for you. :)

Bink,
Thanks for the info.
Sorry it took so long to get back to my mail.
By Programs I mean Start, All Programs in Vista.

Oh, ok.

It's about the same. The features (programs) included with Vista will not be listed in Programs and Features (install/change). Instead, only the programs that you install. The Start Menu is just full of shortcuts for the included features in Vista, and for programs that you installed that added one. The Start Menu "All Programs" will not match the list in "Programs and Features" for this reason.

Hope this helps,
