Solved OS language

Hello, this is my first post here, its a seemingly trivial question, but i can't seem to be able to solve it myself.

Description:
I have recently bought a new computer from acer with vista and it came with a posiblility to upgrade to win7 (http://www.acer.com/windows7upgrade), but i have a slight problem.
I need to specify which language vista is installed inn or it won't work, i figured it would be norwegian (as i am from norway), but allmost all the menus are in english as well as everything in the start menu ("Computer" instead of "Datamaskin" etc...).

Question:
I was wondering if there is an easy way to figure out which language the OS is installed in.

I am unable to find "Locations" in the control panel, the closest thing i could find was "regional and language options" but nothing there gave me any indication about what language the OS was installed in

Im running Vista home premium 64-bit with SP1 if that helps

If there is any information you need please ask

Hello Lorithai, and welcome to Vista Forums.

In "Regional and Language Options" in the Control Panel, you can look at these two locations to help see.

Under the Locations tab:
Location.jpg
Under the Keyboards and Languages tab, click on the Change Keyboard button. You will see your default language listed here, but if you have changed it, then you will see all installed languages in the lower "Installed Services" section. Usually the top service was your original default.

Hope this helps,

If there is any information you need please ask

Click, Start>Control Panel>Regional and Language Options>Open. At the Formats Tab>Current Format - select your language preference [there are two listed under Norwegian] from the drop-down Menu.

Hope this helps.

Hello Lorithai, and welcome to Vista Forums.

From the Keyboards and Languages tab i get this

language1.jpg

I also finaly got through to acer support and that guy told me that i had it installed in english based on my start menu, although he didn't seem to know for certain as the win7 upgrade scheme is handled by a 3rd party. It seems to be important which language the the OS was installed in originaly.

startmenu2.jpg

I can only assume my OS is installed in english

Thank you for your answers, i am amazed at the speedy replies.
