Laptop Battery Problem Please help!

Hey guys. I have a problem with my Dell Inspiron 1525 battery life. It used to be about 2 hours, and now it is down to about 30 minutes max even on "Power Saver".
The only change i can think of in my laptop was that i re-installed windows due to the fact it was running very slowly, and the install fixed the problem.
Another thing, my charge cable is kind of ripping at the part where it goes into the laptop, but it still charges to 100% and dies within 30 minutes.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

PS. i have included something i done about a week ago with all informartion.

Thats a common thing... Batteries run down like that as they only have x amount of charging cycles.

Also could you tell us what Type of battery you have

I would recommend for the Mean time Taking the Battery out and then Plugging in the AC-Power cable and running the computer from that

Many Thanks,
Josh

thanks for the quick reply from both of you. i am honestly not sure of the type of battery, was it not included in the log that i included? where could i find this out, and if you dont mind what is the benefit of running it from the AC supply with no battery inside?

While we sort out your Battery it would be best to not Wear it down and charge it back up again - This can affect the Battery Life

Also is the Computer under warranty? And you should find what the battery type is on the Battery somewhere?

This is Vital for it will tell us if it is Overcharge or a Faulty Battery

Many Thanks,
Josh

hello, back.
the battery is:
Dell battery module rechargeable Li-ion Battery
TYPE: M911G
RATING: 11.1V
CAPACITY: 41WH

No, the computer ran out of warranty a few months ago now

Okay so the battery is Lithium (Which you cannot Overcharge) So it is most likely a faulty Battery

You can call Dell and try and get a Battery for a Small fee or you could Go and buy a battery

Basically you may have a Faulty Battery and the only solution is to Buy a new one :(

If you still had warranty you could have gone to Dell and asked for a Battery

Sorry :( ,
Josh
