acer crystal eye webcam stop working

hi...im running a windows vista home basic 32 on my acer aspire 4530. It has a built in webcam.All was fine when it just stop working.I usually use it on yahoo messenger.Device manager says its working properly.the drivers are updated.
But when i open acer crystal eye webcam, its says camera not found. when i use it on yahoo messenger,all i see i dark black screen.I hope someone can help me fix my webcam.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you please Uninstall the Driver for the Webcam and then Restart your Computer

Hi Deaddrop and Josh

You can also check this out.
Press the Window key + R key.
Then type in the textfield of Run : devmgmt.msc
This opens the Device Manager.
Open the node Imaging Devices (Cameras and scanners),
Right-click Video WebCam, and see if the device is switched off.
If so, turn it on. ( A downward arrow on the device means it's disabled )

@shadowjk...pls tell me how to uninstall the driver for the webcam? is also thru the device manager? sorry im not really a tech wiz...pls tell me step by step how to do it.

Go to Device Manager the Find your Webcam (Should be under Imaging Devices)

Then Right click and Click Uninstall

Then restart your Computer,

yup still the same problem....on acer crystal eye webcam application, it still says cam not found....on yahoo messenger, cam is all black.

Hello Deaddrop,

Try this:

Right click on the desktop icon for the Crystal Eye. Click Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab. Under Compatibility Mode, check the box beside "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". Click OK. Double click the desktop webcam icon and look for your own smiling face. (Then you can go back and turn off XP compatibility, and the camera will still work.)

@kesume...havent downloaded anything....yup i have security program running.i already run my anti virus scan,my anti spyware,clean disk,etc...

oh it happened 2 days ago....

ohhh i have fix my webcam....its now functioning well on yahoo messenger...but i dont use the acer crystal eye webcam application anymore...instead i use another software..."debut video capture software"...i wish i can install and make acer crystal eye webcam work again..but for now, i will settle without it...i just remember before it work for both..but im happy its working on my yahoo messenger now. i just delete all drivers and application for the webcam and just installed bison...restarted my computer and iw work...thanks to u guys...i think the fix ya post have a lot of recomended solutions...thanks again!!!

ummmm now it dont work again.......must have conflicts with other drivers...

i tried updating my windows.....wow...all of a sudden it work again...acer crystal eye webcam application, debut video capture software and yahoo messenger.Worked for the whole day,then next morning didnt work again.
Can it be driver conflicts or software conflicts??? How can i make it stable working always? Any suggestions or advice?
