Looking For A DVD/RW orDVD/R internal Disc Drive For Laptop

I was wondering if one cd/r drive on a laptop can be exchanged with a another one from another laptop?????n I am looking to replace my cd/r-DVD cd drive on my Acer and wanting to get a DVD/RW/CD/r so I can take my vdeo files off my laptop cause it is filling fast........ I am hoping it can be done, if so, I would like ro know if someone has a spare I can buy or trade wi with what ever if they are in the Phoenix area.... I don't have money for postage right now, but can work something out.... Ebay ext ones run about 30dollars min.......
