On startup I am starting to get this little window...

"INTEL(R) Proset/Wireless Event Log Service stopped working and it was closed.

A problem caused the application to stop working correctly."

I had/have an old intel wireless driver that is out of date and no longer supported.

I did an uninstall and reboot and it seemed to have cured this problem, but alas it has returned.

Could someone, please, help me solve this problem, as it seems to perplex the manufacturer and windows ?

Thanks so much, Mike

Welcome
Its just more of what is called bloat. Unnecessary software that really does not do much good.
This will solve the problem
Go into msconfig and stop the service from running at startup.
If even the manufactuer was not familiar with the warning, it could not be very important.
If you do encounter problems in the future we can act on it.

It seems your driver, or card is going bad.

Windows will reinstall the driver every reboot, unless you disable it.

What is your system?

You have a system like mine, well my laptop anyway.

Heres your new video card drivers:
NVIDIA DRIVERS 275.33 WHQL

And it'll have the audio with it.

Hmm, can't find a driver for the 5100 though, who makeds your laptop?

Np... I think ou need to check your actual driver, as my wifi says 5100, yet uses the 9xxx driver.
