Solved movie maker stops working on publishing

All files are WMV or WMA. The filters are disabled. I can make very short WMVs but it will not make a 2 min video with several effects and transitions.

Welcome
This error can occur because of conflicts between iac25_32.ax and other software used in your system.
Lets test and see if we can help, no promises with this one though.
Make a clean boot
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
and see if you can make a video
If not try in safe mode then report back.

If neither way works, try a system restore from about 2 weeks before the problem began, since registry can also cause the problem.

If you have changed or added something recently restore to the orignal condition

Thank you for your help.
Clean boot, no change
Safe mode did not load video card drivers to allow movie maker to load
System restore would only go back 5 days. Tried it anyway with no change.

I had installed Adobe Premiere elements a few days before that and uninstalled it when I noticed movie maker not working.

Did a search for iac25_32.ax with nothing showing up

Was there a little box, bottom left, of System Restore, when you saw the five days? It should say check to see more dates.

I am suspecting the file was infected and deleted by virus checker or removed with another program as it was uninstalled. I am going to try to find the file and install it.

Tried something that did not work. I copied the iac25_312.ax to my desktop and then renamed it to iac25_32.ax. I then placed it into my System 32 folder.

Problem solved.

Adobe Premiere Elements instals a separate audio program that has to be uninstalled separately.
Uninstalled it. Did not need to restart.

Thank you all.
