I am trying to update Windows 7 Service pack 1 / debug and build 7601. This is a MSDN copy through my college. When I try to do the upgrade I get a message saying you cannot upgrade from a staged build to a non-staged build. I am required to use Windows 7 in my class but I can't install it successfully. Does anyone have any suggestions other than installing from a clean install and reinstalling everything on my computer. I have wasted two days with this. I did a clean install last night but I was getting numerous dll errors and validation errors and I reinstalled Vista Business on my computer. When it was installed it would take 15 minutes to load a page on the web. This is so frustrating. Any help would be appreciated as I have homework that I need to do. Thanks.
For Windows 7 related issues, you should register and post at our sister site Seven Forums.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to upgrade from a prelease copy of Windows 7. You might contact your college to see if they can get you a RTM student copy of Windows 7 at a discount to use instead.
