Install Vista with USB Flash Drive on netbook

Hi everyone I have a huge puzzle...I'm trying to install Vista home premium x64 on my Acer netbook.I found a tutorial how to make the flash drive bootable and followed it step by step everything worked fine then copied and past there the vista instalation disk and booted...it starts perfectly...it boots from the usb it starts loading the windows files but then it comes the trouble...it tells me that I'm missing some files in the windows and can't continue the install.I tried with 4 different windows's and everytime the same...I tried with both x64 and x32 bit and also with both home premium and ultimate...the same result. The flash drive should be ok because it boots and the windows loads at first...I also tried with and without running the bootsect.exe before I copy the Windows on the flash drive...the same result again.I just don't know what seems to be the problem...please help...I'm relly stock on that

Yes no problem I will answer anything
I did set up a partition exactly like in the tutorial the link to which is on the previuos post. There is plenty of room on both the flash drive and the netbook-I have 8gb flash drive newly formatted before I copy the windows on it...and I have 100gb on the hard drive of the netbook also cleaned and freshly formated before the instalation starts.
My netbook is Acer with 2gb RAM 250 HD and about 2.0 MHz dual core and the laptop from which I'm creating the flash drive key is with even higher specs-4gb ram around 300 hd and also 2.something dual core processor.
I hope this can help for the solutions

Hello again, i am in training , which is why i asked questions, instead of going right to the fix . I have noticed however that you did not follow the steps exactly as what was in the tutorial on setting up the Flash drive. You may get better results if set up as ntfs. But, i suppose you have your reasons , i am just learning. I will watch for a resolution for this thread as i am most curious as how this will be resolved. Please post results as you complete your instructions .

Thanks for the suggestion...I tried doing everything all over again formating it with ntfs now I have another issue...when I try to run the bootsect this way it is saying me that: "could not map drive partitions to the associated volume device objects: access is denied." ...
...I just dont know what I'm missing I did everything all over again and triple checked every step of the way it was matching perfectly so I dont know why does it goes wrong again.

Hello , from your last posting, it appears you went with the method 2 which has this at the beginning " METHOD TWO
Manually Create Vista Installation USB Key

1. Plug the USB key in.

2. If AutoPlay opens a pop-up for the USB key, then just close it.
NOTE: Make note of what the drive size is for the USB key for step 6 below. You can also open Computer (step 21) to see what the drive size is to. For example, mine is 3920 MB.

3. elevated command prompt.

4. In the elevated command prompt, type diskpart and press Enter. (See screenshot below) "

Is this correct, you used method 2 and you did the elevated command prompt, I am just asking, not doubting you, but , if you did this and this is not working, then we have to come up with another way for you to resolve this.

Yeap that's right I used method 2 and elevated command prompt and followed the steps perfectly with the suggestions for the ntfs and still dont work...I tried so many things already I've been sitting on that computer for 2 days now and I read it works so fluently for so many people I must be missing something somewhere...I was thinking if may be something more should be changed in the BIOS, I read about some options there but I couldnt see anything on mine on first sight...I'll just keep reading and trying.
Thanks for the help guys if you come up with something I'll be so appreciatefull!!!

My Computer

I just checked the BIOS of the netbook and didn't find anything that I can enable/disable that might help so now I'm completely on a dead end...
BIOS - changed the boot order so the flash drive is on top just as everyone says and found nothing else that can help.
FLASH DRIVE - followed perfectly every step of the way as in many tutorials and suggestions that apparently works real smoothly for so many people but not for me
WINDOWS - tried 5 different ones x64 and x32;home premium and ultimate all the same result...I have one easy resolution-go back and restore from the back up windows 7 but it is so sluggish and slow that it is the same like have nothing so I have to find something.
EFFORT - I tried so many times, so many things, read so many tutorials and forum threads, listened to any suggestions lost 2 full days just for that with less than 6 hours of sleep.

I guess I would need a miracle to make it work or just a simple change of strategy...do you think XP is gonna look(perform) better on a netbook than Vista and is the Flash Drive process the same like with Vista.May be Vista is just not compatible with my netbook or something like that I dont know...

When richc46 gets back online , we will both find out, as he is a master at this stuff. The fact you have posted your results should give him enough info. to come up with something.

From a friend, he's buying and selling computers all the time so he's got a rich collection...I have them on image files though not on CD's or DVD's and am using MagicIso...may be he's doing those ISO's wrong in some way...any idea where I can find another source for a Vista may be that's gonna help(probably not, but you know... desparation makes you try everything)

My Computer

Its just a guess, based upon what you just said and your problems, In not sure that they are authorized DVD's, maybe from Utorrent?
Its hard to get a new legal Vista, now. You may have to go with Seven. Thats what I have and its awesome.

Any idea why is that happening I think if that works we may have a breakthrough with the instalation.

And for the Vista's-he has them from before so I think they should be authorized but I don't know for sure...but if they are from a torrent is this going to destruct the instalation?
I do have W7 on the netbook originaly and that's going to be the easiest way to restore it but I'm not happy with the performance at all it is so slow and sluggish so that's why I was trying to change it in first place...but I guess if nothing can be done I'll just have to take what it is.
Do you think XP should work ok on the netbook and is the whole process there the same like with the vista(I mean installing it with a flash drive)

My Computer

Any illegal copy of Vista, has flaws. It will not work like an authorized copy. How does your friend have all these copies of Vista. Legal copies do cost a lot.

He's buying a lot of computers so I guess they should be legal after all he's paying for the computer and the Windows so everything seems ok...but what do you think about the bootsect issue I think that's my last hope before I just go back to my 7
