Hey guys, i have a quite serious problem with my computer at the moment. it started about 2 weeks ago.

My computer has a problem where it chews up my memory like MAD! and causes my computer to run quite slow causing my series watching to lagg really badly.

I have to restart my computer 5-6 times a day to reset it. when i start my computer i start at around 1.5 gig memory being used then it slowly builds up the longer the computer is on and ending up at around 7.3gigs of memory being used. and all im doing is watching series with VLC and surfing or watching series and playing battlefield 3

I left my computer running 1 night to test if it got better or something but nothing when i woke up it was still using 7.3 gig ram and running slow

System idle process is active 100% of the time and running at around 85% usage.

Do you guys have any frikkin idea what the hell is going on? i have never experienced something like this before

ill post a picture here to show you.
at this picture my computer hasnt been running for long and still it consumes a fok load of memory:shock:

Welcome
Bottom line, System Idle is suppose to be high. The higher the better. In simple language, its the resoureces that you have remaining.
This does not mean that you do not have malware. Take the suggested tests. We can give you additional tests, like a memory test.
Dont worry about System Idle.
Lets me look at the list from task manager.
Click on the top of the memory usage column. Let me see what is used and how much for each process.
The first thing to do, was to take the virus and malware test, as suggested. Normally in situations like this, that is the cause. Even if you can solve the problem with the malware test, lets look at the images that I suggested. Maybe, we can improve speed even more.
After we get you up and running, you can make some of these suggestions. I give it to you now in case you have questions. Dont make the suggested changes now, since that will confuse the issue and make it more difficult to diagnose any serious problem that you may have.

Did you make six passes for the memory test. Did you take a good stick and test each slot, for six passes?

I did a registry defrag and currently scanning using windows malicious removal tool

"Did you make six passes for the memory test. Did you take a good stick and test each slot, for six passes?"

im afraid i dont quite understand that, i think it did 2 passes? took around 7 min to scan

Do you meen right click and go to services? and see wat it is running or?

and what exactly would that clean boot do? should i have that clean bootup run for hours and see if i still get that memory build up and capping?

im not sure wat to do with that memoery tust yet since i dont have a clean disk and a burner. might ask my brother to make one

i have done all the other steps that was linked

If it were me, I would try the clean boot. Use the computer as usual and if the problem does not occur again, put a few services back at a time to find out the cause.

Off the top it looks like svchost is using too much memory. Lets do one at a time. Go to the one that is using the most, right click, then open and give us a shot. Thats one shot.
