Solved system restore problem

I have windows vista homebasic 32 bit. My pc is not able to create System Restore Points, i tried creating it manually but it says "shadow copying of the specified volume is not supported (0x8004320C)"..
Actually i deleted the previously created restore points by using "TuneUp Utilities" except the last one, to free up the disk space. but now i found there are no restore point available and I am not even able to create it manually.
please suggest me some solution.!!!

Welcome
Are you trying to store the points on the same drive that you are copying?

i got the solution. Actually the "Microsoft software shadow copy provider" service was disabled that is why it was giving error "shadow copying not supported".
by enabling that service, now i can create restore points manually.

It sounds like you're doing some aggressive tuning and maintenance on your computer. Had you previously turned off that service in one of the optimization steps to help make your computer run faster? Normally that service should be on.

OK, good to know.

One useful thing I like to do whenever I start down one of those paths of tweaking my computer in a "new" way, is to keep a document of what I did. Open up your favorite text editor (I like Textpad), and just copy/paste the tips you've executed, in the order you did them. Also, preface this with the date so you can remember when you did this. I also like to copy/paste the links to website pages where I got them from, for future reference. This way you can look back over what you did recently when things start acting up, and see if it may be something you did that introduced the problem.
