Solved restoring/enabling the Vista Welcome screen

When I turn on my computer, the Vista Welcome screen appears. Most people don't like it so they disable it through the little checkbox in the lower left corner: "Do not show this Welcome box again at Startup."

That is what happened at the repair shop the other day. The technician disabled the Welcome Screen that starts upon startup.

I want to get it back. How do I do that?

Thanks.

When you say "Welcome Screen", you mean about being prompted for a user login/password? If so, do the following:

Go to the Control Panel and select User Accounts.
Click on "Turn User Account Control on or off"
If you turn this off, you will not be presented with a logon screen when starting your computer.

I appreciate the ease of not having to logon when you use your computer, but be advised that in general it is better to have UAC (User Account Control) switched on. Click HERE to find out why.

No, actually I have my login screen divided into three's. Myself, my Dad (administrator), and Guest. That works fine.

The page I'm trying to describe is the page that comes up with your desktop that tells of all the wonderful "new" features of your new "Vista". There is a little box in the lower left corner that allows you to check it and disable it permanently from ever appearing again on your desktop again on Startup when your desktop pops up.

I believe most people hate it and go ahead and check the box-never to be bothered with it again. In fact, there seem to be many 'how-to's' telling how to get rid of it. But there seem to be none on how to bring it back.

That's what I want to do-bring it back. I hope I have made some sense here. Thanks.

I found my answer. It is called the Vista Welcome Center. It is under Control Panel. Just click on it and check the box in the lower left corner - Run at Startup.

It comes back when you Restart your computer.

Sorry, I was away for a few days and only now got back to see you'd clarified your situation. Interesting. I had long forgotten about that control panel item. Glad to hear you were able to figure it out. :)
