RED onto the motherboard...no upgrades here

...I'm Kat.

Whilst I may be a 'newbie' to this forum, I'm certainly not a novice when it comes to
computing. I started in 1984 with a Casio PB100, with a massive 512 bytes of RAM
(yes, you DID read that correctly), then progressed through a 48K Speccy, a C64 (which
I still own) and an Amiga A500+ (which I also still own).

My first PC was an Osborne 386SX20, with 4 MB of RAM (SOLDERED onto the m/board,
no upgrade path here), a 256 KILOBYTE graphics card, and an 80 MB HDD that was the
size of a shoe-box.

I'm a member of both the 7 and 8 forums, but recently kicked my old Pentium 4 2.8/Vista
Ultimate setup into life after a long-ish break.

So, here I am.

I've basically dropped in to pick up any new tips since I last used Vista, and to
help in any way I can. I was a Vista beta-tester back in the day, so if I can help,
rest assured that I will.

Thanks, and nice to be here....:-)

Makaing a system Image once a month (varies by user)

Re: Um...hello....

Thanks, Richard, and yes, that's all good advice.

If a few more people heeded advice like that, we'd all sleep easier....:-)

I really don't know what happened to the thread heading, it was supposed to
be me introducing myself, don't know how motherboards got into the equation.

Sorry!
