I have been asked what programs and tools do I use for maintenance and security on my Windows computer
As it could be useful to others I have posted it here.

The security program I use for Real-Time Protection is Microsoft Security Essentials.

The two Web Browsers I use are Chinese.b5.Camera.Shy.and my main one,Mozilla FireFox
With Firefox,some of the add-ons I use are Adblock Plus,Better Privacy,Interclue and Key Scrambler.

My default search engine and home page in Firefox is https://Startpage.com/

I also use a host file from....Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts File

Auslogics Defragger......How to Speed Up Your Computer-Best Software to Increase PC Speed

Maintenance As Follows:

Open CCleaner, go to Options,Cookies
Highlight any cookies you want to keep and click the Right arrow to move them to the right side of the page.
Click Cleaner, Click Analyze, then Click Run Cleaner.
Click Registry and then click Scan For Issues
Click Fix Selected Issues then Fix Issues.
Backup Registry Files If You Want When Asked
Close CCleaner by clicking red X

Open Revo-Uninstaller,go to Tools,Junk File Cleaner,Click Scan
When scan finishes click Delete
Close Revo by clicking red X.

Open Glary Utilities,Click 1-Click Maintenance,Uncheck Tracks Eraser Then click Scan For Issues,Click Repair Problems.
Close Glary Utilities by clicking red X

Open Super AntiSpyware, Click Check For Updates. When updates finish click Scan Your Computer
When scan finishes click fix issues or close if no issues are found by clicking red X.

Open MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. Click update.
When updates finish click scan your computer
Remove anything found or if nothing found close MalwareBytes by clicking red X.

Click Computer, Right click C: (if your operating system is here)
Click Properties,General,click Disc Clean up.(I uncheck Thumbnails)
After it has run click More Options
In the more options box click System Restore And Shadow Copies
Click Clean Up, then click Delete.
(This last option will remove all but your last Restore Point to give you more disc space).

Open Auslogics Defragger,Click Action,Analyze Selected.Click Defrag and Optimize. Close When Finished

Go to JavaRA.exe and Click Search For Updates,Then Remove Older Versions,Then Click Additional Tasks.
Check All the boxes and click Go. Close JavaRA

Go to Start Search Box and type CMD
While holding down CTRL and SHIFT press ENTER (This will open CMD as Administrator)
In the box that opens type
SFC /SCANNOW and press ENTER (note the gap before/)
If errors are found restart your computer and do the scan again.
Run it up to three times if errors are found.

Click System Restore and make a new restore point by clicking Open System Protection, then Create
Give your restore point a name then click Create.
Close with red X when finished.

Click Macrium Reflect,Click Reflect,Click Create Backup Image Of Entire Disc,
Click Next,Click Disc 1,C: or the disc you have your opperating system on),
Click Next, Click Local Hard Disc, Browse to your Drive you want to use for backups, Click Next, Click Finish,
Click Run Backup Now

Don't forget to make a bootable recovery disc for Macrium Reflect (you only need to do this once)
Put A Blank DVD In Your DVD RW Drive
Go to Macrium,Click Reflect,Click Other Tasks,Click Create Bootable Rescue CD,
Click Linux,Click Next,Click Check For Updates,Click Advanced,Click Compatibility Mode,Click OK,Click Finish.
If you ever need to recover your computer you will need to change the boot order in the bios to CD-Rom
and restart your computer with this disc in the drive. Follow the prompts to your stored image file.

Notes.. If you use Auslogics Defragger you should go to Windows Task Scheduler and turn off Windows Defragger as two defraggers running will conflict with each other.

Always keep your Shockwave Flash and Java up to date
and keep up to date with Windows Updates.

I schedule a disc check about once every two months.

System Restore can be found in All Programs,Accessories,System Tools. I have a shortcut on my desktop for it and always make a restore point before installing any new software.
