Need to Borrow a Vista 64 bit DVD...??!!

Hi All,

Bit of an odd situation here - I'm hoping someone can help out!!

I just bought a second hand HP PC which has a Vista Business OEM COA sticker on it. The PC came without a hard disk or any install discs, but it obviously has a licence for the operating system attached to the PC.

I rang HP and they want to charge me a fortune for supplying a replacement Vista install DVD, so I'm wondering if someone here can help me out!

Is there any chance someone can lend me their windows Vista 64 bit install DVD?! I don't need the activation / install code as the PC has a valid one, I just need to borrow the install disc!! I live in the USA at the moment, if that's any help, and will return it as soon as I've finished!!

Or if someone has any better ideas, please let me know!

Hello all.

I hate to hijack the thread, but I signed up to ask a similar question.

I have my install cd's, and was looking for a link to a clean .iso (thanks by the way), but what I'm trying to figure out is if using the iso with my key will allow me to avoid having to install all the bloatware that came with this Gateway? It would save me a ton of time if I did not have to uninstall the dozen or so programs and remove the registry keys involved.

Thanks for any help.

The answer is the ISO has no bloatware. In the future please do not hijack threads. Start your own you will get answers directed at your exact question and it will reduce confustion that several questions in the same thread my cause.
That being said, I would back up my OS with Macrium Reflect, first, in case the resinstall does not work.

Ok Rich, you got it. Thank you so much for the quick response, it's really appreciated. I'll run the iso in a VM first to make sure it all works.

Again thank you.
