pagefile.sys help

Hi all. Running Vista 64 bit on one of my computers. I have two drives C, and F. I want to change the drive letter of F to E. But I cant - I get a message that tells me the drive letter cannot be changed b/c of a pagefile.

Well, there is actually a pagefile.sys in my F root, and it's 12 GB. I would just remove the drive, put it in an enclosure and delete the pagefile.sys, however - the pagefile.sys in my C root is 0 bytes. Therefore, I am a little concerned about just getting rid of the one in F.

Any ideas on how I should proceed here?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, found where to change the drive assmt., in Control Panel\System and Security\System

Should I even have a pagefile.sys? What happens if I don't have one?

Hi riffwraith, click on start, right click on computer, left click on manage, click on Disc Management, when you see disc-F right click on it
you will see change drive letters and paths, left click on it and choose your letter, Good luck,

You do need the pagefile.sys. It's used for virtual memory which Windows needs when it needs more space in RAM.
