Hi
Should be easy
Place the formatted CD in the drive
Go to the my computer icon on desktop (if not there go to seach type computer, and then right click and open)
When you see the CD drive, left click on it and then right click, make new, and then folder.

OK Plan B.
Try making a new folder on your c drive, maybe you will have the new option.
If so make folder there and drag to DVD drive.

Thank you Richc46,
I travelled in my Registry Editor until
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\New
and found the Value data is 100% the same as the link suggested
{D969A300-E7FF-11d0-A93B-00A0C90F2719}
(for Restore New to the Context Menu)

By the way, I got New option in all folders but not in DVD.

Hello needhelps,

Is this a rewritable DVD?

When you first inserted the DVD when it was blank (unformatted), did you select to use the disk "like a USB flash drive" (live file system) or "with a CD/DVD player" (mastered) like below?

If you selected the CD/DVD option, then you will not be able to edit the DVD.

Hope this helps for now, :)

You would have needed to use the "like a USB flash drive" option to be able to continue to write/save to the DVD afterwards.

What did you use to create the recordable DVD with?

Thank you Brink,

When I inserted a blank/new DVD, it did some formating and then a Drive window oppened with a title
"Drag files to this folder to add them to the disc"
1. I didn't see anything like the picture you shown above.
2. I tried right click ithe window but didn't find the New option.
3. I made an empty folder in Desktop and then drad it into the window without success!

Thank you Brink,

I have tried several DVD, rewritable, recordable, 4.7GB, 700MB.....all the same.
I have found I made folders in the same kind of DVD two years ago, by the Vista in the same PC!

My Computer

It's all about how that specific DVD was created.

Were you able to save anything else to the DVD that you are not able to add a new folder to?

How about trying another DVD. There may be problems with the one that you are using.

Do you have AutoPlay turned on for the DVD drive. This way when you insert a blank DVD into the drive, you will get the option of setting it up as Live File System (like a USB flash drive) to be able to save more to it later.
