Upgrading RAM

Hi guys,

I'm looking to speed up a friends computer by upgrading the RAM of their Acer sa90-yb7z. The internet has not been as helpful as I thought, so I thought i'd check with people who know what they're doing before I start jamming any old spare RAM I have lying around into the motherboard.

Would 2 x PC2 5400 (OCZ667) 5-5-5 @ 1.8V 1Gb be a reasonable and compatible upgrade in the Acer F671CR R01-B3S1 motherboard in this PC, compared to the stick below?
Type DDR2
Size 512 MBytes
Manufacturer Nanya Technology
Max Bandwidth PC2-5300 (333 MHz)
Part Number NT512T64U88A1BY-3C
Serial Number D54D2614

Thanks,

Wowdude

Is they only running 512Megs?

Yes you'll see a bit of an increase in speed going with 667 vs 533, and upping the RAM to 2 Gigs

Thanks Patonb! Would these sticks be compatible?
And the RAM was constantly on 78% usage, so at least this'll give the computer more room to breath. I may also try some tweaks just to speed the system up as it's boot and desktop loading time is appalling.

If you already have the RAM, I'd say try it and see, but as OCZ no longer makes/sells RAM go with a different brand.
Crucial as linked by Rich or Corsair

Each brands site will have a compatibility checker
