In Windows Photo Gallery when I want to copy to a folder in Pictures I always end up with a duplicate in the Gallery is there a way to avoid this?

Being as cut and paste is not an option I copy and paste from Gallery to a folder in Music or doco or pictures, then when I next go to gallery they have been duplicated which I delete, it seems that 'Gallery' scans all folders and then adds pics to gallery they are not edited at this stage. there must be an option to prevent this but I can't find it. thanks for the links I will check them out.

The value for both height and width was set at 4 so I have increased to 10 (both) a couple of test runs and it seems to have fixed it

Allan, can you tell me what I have actually changed by going from 4 to 10, why the default was 4 and will it effect any thing else. I just like to try and understand these things.

Hello Mich,
The reason this happens is because you moved your mouse more than 4 pixels while clicking down on a file, so Windows assumes you’ve dragged the files and want to copy them, and litter your folder with duplicates.

I tried to copy 6 pics at random in one move and they became duplicated so I will play around with it.
