Mouse click problem under Vista - moving windows

Hi,

I have a problem never seen before on other computers. It comes on a Vista preinstalled MSI notebook:
- if I want to move a window. I need to click onto the window title bar, and move to the destination and click again to release the mouse. It comes in browsing too. If I want to move down the scroll bar I need just click once then if I move the mouse, the scroll bar is moving until I dont click again. Similar problem in handwriting. At the end I need to click again. So it looks to be a general setting somewhere. It is annoying. How to set up the default settings comes on all systems?

Thanks!

Gerhard.

Do you have SP2 installed and completely updated?

Does this problem occur using the touchpad? For instance, can you drag and drop without having to click?

Latest Vista. Problem comes not only with touchpad, but with Wacom Intuos5 tablet too. The biggest problems, there are sliders in Photoshop, etc. and if I want to set the value by moving the slider, not by entering the exact data, at the end I need to click again at the end of operation. This causes not getting exact data, need always to correct manually because of the extra click at the end and it is hard to click by a pen always onto the same pixel again...

Btw. it works like: I can click, move the window without keeping the button down and click at the end of the moving to release the window at the final place. It appears by scrolling too. It is an MSI notebook preinstalled Vista.

When you use the touchpad, normally you would hold down the shift key and just move your finger on the touchpad to drag and drop, even if you click on a Window to move it first.

As a first cut, you can check the touchpad and mouse settings in Control Panel, Mouse.

Second, you can go to the MSI support website and check for a later driver. If there is no later driver, I would reinstall the available one.

Thank you. I will try it.
