CHK files how could I open or retrieve?

My external hard drive was fine but when I open it shows empty field though there is data on it.
As I am unable to see my data I ran disk error via H drive, properties/tools/disk check.

To confirm what is on the drive I use a software which check the folder size and it shows files as per screen shot.
I wonder if there is any way I can open, read or retrieve chk files?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

If I understand your question correctly, you want to read the results of chkdsk, which is shown on the screen only momentarily, at the completion of the scan.
Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log - Windows 7 Help Forums
Vista works the same as Seven.

No not like that, I could not see anything if I click on the External drive from My computer it shows empty. But some how I use a software which check the folder/file size that showed me there are 000 and 0001 folder and chk files.

As there is very important data I want to read, retrieve or back up but I do not know how to use Windows Vista home premium. Is there any way?

Thank you for your answer.

PS* I want to convert chk file to original ones such as, txt, doc, pdf, wav, mp3 etc if possible otherwise at least txt or doc.
