Solved Horrible robot adware program on my Vista machine HELP please!

Some horrible ad robot program is now on my computer.

I think it has something to do with weDownload manager.

I have just run every malware and crap cleaner program I have and I have cleaned up everything but cannot get rid of this program.

I changed to Mozilla Firefox a few months ago and am happy with it.

You folk helped me out one time in the past.

I think it started about 4 days ago but am going to say June 1 it started. Then I go back one week and I will make that May 24.

But I am not going to do the System Restore first because I can't remember what all that erases from my system but I think it erases all my Word Files I created since May 24, and not sure about this, but I think the System Restore will also erase all my emails from May 24 even though I use Yahoo AT&T webmail for email.

I am now in the process of downloading adwcleaner and it seems to be taking ages, so far at least half an hour. I plan to run it first if it ever successfully downloads. The infection software seems to be messing with my downloads so hope it does download. And then if AdwCleaner does not solve my adware problems, I will then do the system restore after looking around on web first to find out for sure what system restore wipes out. Seems I was warned a long time ago to be very careful when doing system restore. Anyway, if I end up having to do system restore and it works, I will then go back and try to do adwclearner again to have it since you say it is a good program. I thought I had some adware protection on my machine but whatever I have did not protect me from this assault.

I will report back after I keep trying on this plan. Thanks again.

System restore does not touch any personal stuff. Why not back up your stuff first, if you are concerned

I do not even know how to "back up my stuff".

I am not sure what you mean by "personal stuff." Are you saying only that Sys Res would not mess with my webmail or my Word files. I have done several downloads of pdf files and adobe flash and adobe shockwave flash that I am still having trouble with but would those adobe downloads be affected?

Would you believe the red light on top of my computer is still blinking which I take to mean the Adv download has not yet completed. Something seems wrong there as it is taking way too long.

This adware that has infected my computer inserts hyperlink ads on every posting/comment I have made on any site and in any forum incuding this one.

System restore does not touch personal stuff such as webmail, or word files. If you downloaded software such as adobe, they will only be affected if downloaded after the date that you chose for the restore.

Based upon your latest information about the hyperlinks on all posting, I think that you need professional help from one of our security experts. I will refer you. Just check back so you can answer any questions.

Good news. I was able to run the Adw program you recommended and I no longer see all the hyperlinks in all the sites I frequent.

So I think the problem is solved. I hope that Adw program is vigilant and keeps constant watch on my computer but maybe it does not work that way and I need to execute a scan whenever I need it.

ADW removes any problem software. It will have to be run again if you acquire new problems.
