Long story short. I had to reinstall my Vista with installation disk that came with computer. I can't install anything. I tried internet explorer and chrome. I've done all updates. Also can't figure out how to get it to recognized the wireless I have set up. Not sure if this was the right board to post to, but I'm frustrated and don't know what to do.

Connect a Ethernet cable then do several Windows Updates. Don't know what SP level the disc you used is at but Vista has SP1, SP2 and 190+ updates you need to download and install. Once they are all done, most other things should work okay.

I have done that. It won't let me download chrome or update explorer. Keeps giving me errors. I reinstalling again. Is it possible just to delete everything in the computer and just do a reinstall from the disk and that be the only thing on the computer? I tried to do a factory reset and it starts and then gives me just a error box. No type, no explanation. Just trying to get this computer running for my kids. Still worked great until I tried installing windows 7 and found out I had an illegal copy. So I'm trying to get it back the way it was

If you have a Vista Install disc or manufacturers recovery disc then yes, you can use that to do a clean install with. If not, see here:
