ok so i have a computer with 256mb of ram for expirements. (i have no real plans to use this laptop) i already have a dell deminson 3000 with vista ultimate and it runs fine, 59% of my ram on idle, which isnt as bad. as i thought, (the dell deminson has 512mb ram)
so is there anyway i can bypass. and install on less then 512mb ram. and yes i know its a awful idea. but just for fun,

You can install Vista on a computer with 32 mb if you want however don't expect good performance since the OS will be very dependent on the hard drive for virtual memory. Personally if that is all you have to use I would install XP or 2000. To answer your question it's not that Vista won't install or won't boot it will just seem incredibly slow.

I didn't know that they built that into it because I've haven't installed it on a computer with anything less than 1 gb. I experienced the same thing when I tried on a virtual machine. Since this is built into the disk I doubt that there is anything you can do other than upgrading your ram. IMO it is a bad idea to run it on anything less than a gig even if the requirements are 512 mb.
