I've got windows Vista64bit installed with gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Motherboard. Everythink worked fine untill i decided to use the sleep function in Vista. At first i was having the usual sleep problems as everyone else having but to my horror when i forced the power button and started the system again BIOS gave card error and i found my 6 mounths old Sapphire 1950pro graphics card death. I thought it was the power supply problem and bought a brand new corsair 550w power supply and put an asus AN8600GT graphics card and tryed to put the computer to sleep mode again and after a few restarts as windows wouldn't wake up from sleep my brand new card burned again. This time i've taken the battery off the motherboard and put back after 5 minutes and put another card in; same scenario and same result ended up burning my third card. Now i'm trying to determinate whether it is mobo fault or Vista sleep function is doing something. Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi Ergunok and Welcome to VistaX64.com!

Its defiantly your motherboard causing the graphics card to get burnt out...Have you checked or changed the APCI or power options in your BIOS?

I totally know what ur going thru, it led me to discover that Motherboards do have the capability to burn out components for no apparent reason.

My first pc i had built for me had a totally spagged board with weird sound problems. Tried replacing sound cards etc. Then it started burning out ram sticks individually after i installed xp. Cost me a small fortune in ram coz i was about 15 at the time & wasnt too good with hardware. lol by coincidence, the board was a gigabyte one too.

again, just make sure your board isnt set wrong in the bios.
