2nd card not showing up.

I am running Vista Business x64 and have two ati 4850's in my mother board.

when the jumpers on the biostar hp45 motherboard are not setup for crossfire the master card works fine. I then change the jumpers to switch to crossfire mode and have to move my monitor cable to the slave card.

But only one card still shows up in device manager and crossfire is still not an option in the ati catalyst control center.

Is there something I am doing wrong in order for my system to recognize the second card?

Have you tested the cards independently to confirm they both work..??

what PSU do you have..?? it may not have the guts (Amps) to run 2 4850s

are both of the fans running...??

what drivers are you using ..?? i hear the newer ones have some issues, did you install the ones supplied with the card..??

also try reinstalling CCC ....maybe when you added the second card the program failed to detect it...

please fill out your system specs via the ''userCP''

Thanks for the help, I just bought all the parts new and its more than sufficient to run two cards :)

I did a closer examination and found that under the 8 huge red jumpers there is one small black one that also needs to be switched. Once I did that it worked fine.
