Weird stretched screen

Hello guys,

I'm not sure if this is the right thread but I couldn't really find something that fitted.

Anywayz, My computer started acting weird lately and since i couldn't find anything to solve that I formatted my computer and installed everything back, Windows Vista home basic.

Now my problem is that my screen is all stretched out, It is not only my desktop, it is with everything. My screen resolution is set to 1280x1024 32bit. I think I've got a 21 inc screen. I had this problem before when I installed Vista but I really can't remember how I solved it. I know it was something easy.

Hope some of you guys can help me :o

Greetings, Dark Elva

Welcome
In order try this
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/84291-screen-resolution.html
Paste if that does not work
Go to search and type device manager
In device manager, update the graphics driver.

I know how to change my screen resolution, so that's not it. I can't choose any other option that makes it better. I did look at the vid @ the link you sended me, and I saw that there where more options, I only have 3 different kind of screen resolutions....

I guess it has something to do with my drivers, I use to have some cd's with the computer I bought, but most of the programs on it don't work anymore (there to old I think).

I don't know how to update my graphic driver like you told me due the device manager. I'm not THAT kind of tech girl xD So I started searching, found something called: Driver Whiz, seems to check for drivers for you. But now I have to register and bull**** and need to waste time on finding some keygen to go around it xD *sigh*

If you know something better please tell me :p

Thnx :D

Saskia,
Dont use software that you find online, like that. Usually more problems than its worth. You are a member of the forum, now and we are all friends. Always come here first, with your computer problems.
That being said, we can not always help, but we always try our best.
See if this helps, for both Vista and Seven

I found out that some of the cd's still worked >.< Lol and seemed that there was a driver I needed :p

But thank you so much for the help, I bet the problem would be solved if I tried what you told me :)
