Solved Graphic Card Question

I have a Radeon card which uses CCC: Catalyst Control Center (Not even sure if that makes sense as I have no understanding of drivers or cards.) I was thinking about updating my CCC and the AMD tutorial video recommends uninstalling the CCC first, restarting, then installing the new CCC version. If I can remove the CCC and restart what exactly does it do, why can I see graphics without it? Does a Windows general graphics utility or something take over?

CCC is the official drivers and options program needed to get the most out of the card. That said, MS has generic drivers that gives basic functions so you can see as you install windows and do clean installs of drivers. Same reason why you can see the BIOS screens.

So don't worry, you'll be able to see, just might be at huge resolutions, when you remove CCC.

What about the driver I see in my Display Adaptor/Graphic Card in Device Manager? Is that part of CCC or separate. And if I were to uninstall that would Windows reinstall it after a restart?

You need to reboot, and that's when it officially uninstalls. The reboot loads the generic windows driver till you install the AMD ones.
