Sudden upload speed slowdown

A few days ago out of the blue my upload speed went down to practically zero. I know it's my computer because the other computers on the network can still upload fine. When I run a speed test the download comes back fine (~1275kbps on a 1536kbps connection) but the upload either doesn't finish or comes back at something like 10kbps. My connection for upload is 800kbps. I use qwest dsl. Thank you for any help.

First of all, are you sure that the other computers are not uploading (P2P) and therefore use the bandwith?
If not, how is configured your connection ? (router, ethernet, wireless, usb)

My Computer

no one is using any p2p, or doing any other uploading.

i'm using wired ethernet. from my router/gateway (netgear dg834g) a cable goes to a switch, which then branches out to the other computers. the router has wireless enabled for laptops but the computer that is having problems doesn't use it. my network card is an integrated nvidia.

My Computer

Humm, could come from a connection problem with the router or AV/fiewall even other computers have no problems. I am guessing that you tested the cable and switch port and made tests with the firewall an AV disabled as i know that for example with Norton sometimes very weird things occur with regards to the Internet connection.
If you have still the problem, delete your entire connection to the network, reboot, deactivate firewall (including the vista firewall if it's on) and reconstruct your connection, it is easy and simple to do it.

My Computer

I can't delete the connection, only disable it. The delete option is grayed out whether the connection is disabled or enabled. If I press the delete key it says that the connection can not be deleted.

My Computer

I think that you have first to deactivate your network card.
1/ Deconnect from network
2/ Deactivate/deinstall Network card

Then try to delete connection.
BTW, no change with firewall/AV deactivation ?
What AV/Firewall do you use ?

My Computer

I guess no improvement...
Copy/past your network card settings (properties/advanced tab)
Can you connect via Wifi?
Could be an IRQ conflict, check that.

Sid.
