Cannot delete mapped network drive

I have a drive letter "M:" mapped to a shared drive on my network. I am unable to delete the mapping. If I click on the icon to access the share I get: "M: Not accesible, drive is not ready".

If I right click on the share and choose DISCONNECT I get: "Network Connection Does Not Exist."

If I use the CMD "net use * /d" command I get: "There are no entries in the list."

The share does exist as I can access it and map it to another unused drive letter but I am unable to get rid of the old broken "M" connection.

I'm using Vista x64 SP2 Ultimate

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this ??
