My Lenovo laptop will not automatically connect to my home wifi at boot up although it is set to connect. All of my other computers, XP & both 32bit & x64 versions of Vista, will automatically connect. My network is secured and that computer does have the network & key saved. The Lenovo will manually connect to my network.

The Lenovo laptop: Y430 series laptop running Vista x64 Home Premium
My network: secured DLink Dir-655 Xtreme N gaming router connected to a Motorola cable modem.

The Lenovo has another quirk: on battery, screen will go off after maybe a minute even when the laptop is being actively used. Power settings, which have been checked & rechecked hundreds of times, say the the screen should not go off for 15 minutes while on battery.
