Network Gaming Issues

Trouble connecting to network

Ok here’s my problem. I bought a game, Demigods, and from the first day I was never able to connect or stay connected to a game. I tried all the remedies: opened ports, checked port forwarding, used a proxy server, turned off and uninstalled antivirus and firewalls, turned off windows firewalls, etc. Still never worked. It would allow me to get online, chat in the lobby, connect to other players and then start the game, but each time I would then be dropped because of the connection.

Then I ended up reinstalling vista because it was getting junky on me. When I had only the first few basic windows updates installed, the game played perfectly regardless if I had a port forwarded, firewall/antivirus software, or was proxied. So after playing for a few weeks I then download and installed these three updates: 1) Vista Service Pack 1, 2) Security Update for Micro XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2, 3) A update for definitions for windows defender. Promptly after installing those updates the game then went back to the aforementioned problems. Do a system restore back to where the 3 updates were not installed allowed me to play with no problems.

Thinking maybe this was a bug that would be fixed after ALL updates were installed I then installed everything windows would allow me. But STILL the game does not work.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Please let me know what other information you need to help me with this request.

Thanks in advance,

Toby
