Limited Connectivity after reformatting Vista

Hi Vista Forums

I'm sure this has been discussed to death but I just cannot seem to find a solution to my problem.

I just formatted my Girlfriends computer because she had a lot of malware and viruses. It was a system restore from a Vista to factory settings of Vista and all was done successfully, that is until I tried to connect to the wireless network in my house.

I typed in my password for it, tried connecting but nada, I just get Limited Connectivity notification within the Network and Sharing Center.

Any idea what has gone wrong? I have searched high and low on the forums and none of the suggestions they had seemed to fix my problem.

I should also mention this is not my best area of expertise so if you can keep the advice in layman's terms it would be greatly appreciated =)

Also if you need any additional data please request so, I put in everything I could think of the top of my head...cheers!

Type or copy/paste netsh winsock reset, press enter key

Reboot the computer and see if this helps

Ok I get a message saying "the requested operation requires elevation". I have triple checked the spelling, but for some reason I don't think it did anything.

I have also tried the netsh int ip reset.log but that command prompt just tells me that it does not exist.

I checked the device manager, all the hardware is working fine and proper.

Also tried restarting my router and unplugging it for 10 secs.'didn't work...

Any other ideas perhaps? Cheers for replying!

Are you working from a user account with admin privilege,
