Very nice, Josh. I've used this several times now and it has helped in many cases - mostly having the IPCONFIG than the script, but I'll take any assistance I can get.

Thanks for putting it together, posting it, and getting it listed as a sticky.

Hi Calmat,

Here are two pictures which may help. One is what shows when you right click on the attachment in the post - click on save target to and choose the desktop.

The other is what shows when you right click on the file once it has been copied to the desktop. Click on run as administrator.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

My Computer

Hi calmat,

Go to start / search box and type cmd.exe and enter. This will bring up a program icon for that. Right click on it and click on run as administrator and you will be in Command Prompt. You can take the rest from there.

Good luck!

Hi calmat,

It occurred to me that maybe you want Command Prompt back in your start menu too. Here's how.

1. Go to start / search box and type cmd.exe and enter. This will bring up a program icon for that. Right click on it and click on Send To and then click on Desktop (create shortcut). This will put a shortcut to Command Prompt on your desktop.

2. Click on that new shortcut and simultaneously push CTRL and X (called CTRL-X) to cut it (unless you want to also keep it on the desktop, then use CTRL-C).

3. Click on Start / All Programs / Accessories and right click on Accessories and click Open to open the folder containing the controls. Once there, put the mouse in a blank section and hit CTRL-V to paste the shortcut to that folder. Go to Start / All Programs / Accessories and verify the program is there. If you don't like the name (it probably used cmd.exe or something like that), right click on the shortcut icon and click on rename and type Command Prompt (or whatever you want) and you're back to normal.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!
