DNS server being reset to fixed address

I move around a lot and have one local network that operates using 10.1.1.x and others that use 192.168.1.x.

When I connect to the 10.1.1.x network, I keep finding that the IPv4 config has switched from "Obtain DNS server address automatically" to "Use the following DNS server addresses" - with 192.168.1.1 as the address. I use Manage network connections and alter the properties of the ethernet LAN adaptor, so that the IPv4 again takes the automatic address and the machine is fine ... until it reboots, when it does it again.

I've noticed that during intial connection, it talks about switching to a network profile associated with a different physical location - which I know uses the 192.168.1.x addresses. I figured I'd just delete that network profile ... but it doesn't appear in the list of network locations that you can delete or merge.

Can anyone tell me where I get to that elusive network profile? For one thing, it shouldn't be configured to use manual definition of the DNS server either.

(And yes, I guess I could just add the 10.1.1.1 DNS server to the manual list of DNS servers, but I'd really like to get rid of the problematic profile).

Thanks.
