Solved Unplugging Modem from PC

Don't have a router and want to use the modem with an Xbox. Should I shut down the computer before removing the modem cable and before plugging it back in when I'm done with the Xbox?

Thanks.

You don't have to, but it might not pick up the network when you replug the computer back in.
