Solved [Solved] Start Menu "Recent Items" Suddenly Missing

Worked fine for years. Checked my folder options go verify that Show hidden files & folders is enabled. Running Vista Home Premium SP1

I fixed the problem by switching from the Classic start menu to the Vista start menu. Trouble is, I'm sure I've been using the Classic start menu for years now.

You may have added a folder shortcut to the Classic Start Menu to the hidden folder below for Recent Items.

C:\Users\(User-Name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent Items

No, I don't think so. The Start menu was only a single column - no right-hand column - so I must have been using the Vista version of the Start menu all along.

This has nothing to do with your problem but are you really running SP1?

Yes, I'm really running SP1. I have since disconnected the computer from the internet.

Why? Is there an SP2??

Since you posted in the Vista forum, I assume that's what you have. SP2 for Vista was issued in 2009.
