I have been looking everywhere how to change the font size and type for my outlook 2007 navigation pane
I was able to do it with each current view in the MAIN frame (Inbox message list, etc..) but not with the navigation pane, or the to do bar, some one has an idea on how to do it?

How'd you do it in the Main frame? I can't even figure that out.

I'll keep working on this, but the how you did it there might give me an idea.

For the main frame go to:
View, Current View, Customize Current View, Other Settings,
then select the font you want for: Column, Row, and Autopreview
You will see you only changed the font for the CURRENT VIEW in the MAIN Panel. If you change the View, or the Folder (Inbox, Outbox, etc...) you will need to repear the same procedure, i have not found any GENERAL Font Settings to fix all views
Let me know when you find out about the navigation pane, or to do bar
thanks

Hmm...well, I found something. All I've done successfully so far is change the size of the font of the calendar in the "To Do" bar, but I'll keep plugging away.

To do that:
1) Click "Tools"
2) Select "Options"
3) Choose the "Other" tab
4) Click "Advanced Options"
5) Click "Font" next to "Date Navigator"

Not sure how helpful that is, but it's a start at least.

What's up Vista Forum! I am new to the forum so I wanted to start by sharing. I have found a work around to increasing and changing the font of the navigation pane in Outlook 2007. Follow these steps:

1) go to your personalization settings (control panel-->Appearance and Personalization--->Personalization

2) Click on "Window Color and Appearance"

3) Click "Open Classic appearance properties for more color options"

4) Click "Advanced"

5) Under the Item dropdown, click Menu

6) Change the font and font size to your liking

Unfortunately, even if you change the color, it will not be effective in outlook.

Hope this helps!

I confirm that the previous post is correct. However either custom or classic appearance works. MENU is the choice to modify in order to change the font of Outlook 2007's Navigation bar (including the folders List).

Thanks...

Thank you tmwtm and StingSF!! I have been looking for days and knew there was a setting but I couldn't find it and NO internet search until now provided the answer. I used to play around with all these settings a long time ago, simply forgot where they were. For some reason, my system reset Outlook after a crash to the 9 pt font for the Navigation pane. I have it set back to 11 pt and I can read it again. In fact, had you not said it was the MENU, I wouldn't have known and probably poked around for another couple of days. MANY THANKS!
