Chameleon Clock 5.1

Hi everyone,

I am quite a big fan of Chameleon Clock. I believe it's a brilliant enhancement to the normal clock that comes with Windows. I have been using it with XP Pro (x86) all the time.

However, since moving to Vista Ultimate (x64), Chameleon Clock no longer appears on the taskbar. It's running fine, it still does all the functions (like alarms, reminders, clock chimes, etc), and I can still access it by hovering over the normal clock. But it just does not show the clock itself. I've just got the normal Vista one, which really quite defeats the point of having Chameleon Clock in the first place.

I've put up with it because the most important functions still work, but I do not understand why it will not appear. I have done nothing different to XP, and I have tried loads of different settings.

The website for Chameleon Clock says it's Vista compatible, yet it does not seem to work for me. Maybe perhaps it's because of 64-bit? I do not know...

Has anyone else got Chameleon Clock to show on Vista Ultimate x64? I'd really appreciate any help.

Thank you

So, is no one able to provide me any information on this?

Can anyone tell me if they get Chameleon Clock 5.1 to be visible on Vista x64? If anyone can prove or disprove this, I can take the problem to the developers.

I just went to a computer with Vista Home Premium 64bit. Chameleon Clock worked great on my old Windows XP system but now the clock doesn't show up in the tray; just the normal Windows clock. All the other Chameleon Clock functions work but the clock is not there. Anyone also have this problem and have cured it?

It also dosnt run on XP64 - looks like it dosnt work with any X64-systems. on my testsystems (Vista64 and XP64) I dont even have the other functions except of the calender when hovering over the time - how and where did get the other functions?

You can get to the other functions by right clicking on the calendar. Then click "Advanced Tooltip Options". Everything works except the tray clock. I've emailed the Chameleon Clock people about the problem but they have not answered back.

not on vista i an on windows 10 x64, but the clock never appears same as above. when i try vista compatibilty mode by right clicking properties of chameleon clock, the desktop vanishes and no programs will come to the front forcing me to go into safe mode to restore to normal

My educated guess is that the developers never made it compatible with anything past Vista. Anything that has to do with changing the way that windows looks (such as themes) only apply to the Windows version that they are designed for. I would put a custom clock as being in that category since it is replacing the default clock.
