MS Word works terribly slow.

My task makes me to run MS Word(2007), Endnote(X1) and Adobe Acrobat(9) at the same time. All programs run very slowly (XP is quicker 10 times) and the screen usually be freezing.

I tried to uninstall MS 2007 and used MS 2003 instead but it didn't work.
Anyone could help me? Please........

can you explain what you what you want to do???

i see that you are trying to is run these three applications at the same time
and your computer is running them slow....

you are also saying that xp (on the same computer?) works faster...

what are your specs??
are running anything else at the same time
(since i think you are on battery) are you using the balanced setting in the power options??

My Computer

My spec is AMD turionX2 (TL-64) 64 bit, 2.2 GHZ, Ram 4 GB, harddrive 250 and working with battery charging mode.
I am using window vista 64 bit, home premium.

I have to use window to write articles, acrobat to read others' article and endnote X1 to insert bibiography to my articles.

When I used these three program in my previous notebook (Intel Pentium M 740, 1.2 GHZ), they worked very well.

Yes, I use when I plug in to the AC. I have change my power plan to superperformance mode, but it doesn't work.

I am wondering why the other kinds of MS (excel, powerpoint) work really fast.

I will try to install a new version of Acrobat.

Thank you for your help!

My Computer

do you have any software that starts up and might might slow down your system??
press start
type msconfig and press enter
there click selective startup and uncheck "load startup items"
restart and check your performance....

I have tried as you suggestion but nothing changed.

It's terribly slow when I minimize or maximize the windows of any programs while running msword. I have to wait at least 5 seconds for response when I click minimize or maximize.

I try to open all of them at the 25% size of screen. Then I can use all of them at the same time without clicking minimize/maximize icon, they run very quick.

Nico- Best option would be to open a new thread with details of your issues.
