Difference Between 32 and 64 bit RealPlayer?

I'm expecting that one is for 32bit Windows and the other is for 64, obviously. However I feel that I have Realplayer 32 bit running on my vista and it's the main download on the realplayer site anyways. I think it's 32 bit because when I was in msconfig in the run menu, under startups it had realplayer (32-bit) but how can that be, because I thought 32 bit won't work on 64 bit OP systems and vice versa. Plus is there really any difference between the two? Besides just compatibility.

A 64 bit machine is backward compatible with 32 bit applications. 32 bit is what most applications are based on anyways. If your using a 64 bit machine, download the x64 version of realplayer. it will probably run smoother. But if your running a 32 bit machine, then download the x86 version.

But to answer your question. The only difference between the two is the program architecture, one is ported for 64 bit, one isn't.

I have both 32 bit and 64 bit on my HP dv5t, and Real Player is only installed as a 32 bit application. By the way, Wandering Flame, have you tried the "Download This Video" link to download any audio or video or movie? To me, it's one of the best features of Real Player.
