Problem installing CS4 Premiere Pro, need help

Okay, firstly yes, I have a legit copy of CS4 Premiere Pro because several people have asked me that and not given me answers.

Problem is that I click on the setup.exe icon and the "A Program Needs Your Permission to Continue" box pops up, I say 'continue' and the box goes away. From that point on, nothing happens AT ALL. Just that box, and that is it!

This is really starting to get annoying, please help me out!

Hi,

Are you an administrator? If you are, I would recommend temporarily disabling UAC then trying setup again. If you don't know how to disable UAC then follow Method 1 here:

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/48893-user-account-control-uac.html

However I am not necessarily convinced that this is the problem because setup should still start. If it still does not start, post back and I will continue to help you. Sometimes an administrator will not allow a standard user to run setup programs. Can you install other programs?

Richard

EDIT: Sorry for this post being so short, I clicked submit too early and had to edit.

Hi,

Interestingly I just had to do a clean install and I reinstalled Photoshop Elements 6.0 fine, but when I got round to Premier Elements 4.0, failier. I got a completely different error message half way through install. I am still trying to fathom out why it is doing this. Will post again when I have a proper solution.
