Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Every time I try to turn on my laptop, before it loads the accounts, it shows a "Please Wait" screen. Then a window pops up saying "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." And when I click "OK" it goes back to the "Please Wait" screen, and it pops up again. Before I go and get professional help, can someone tell me what is the problem? What causes this? Is there a way I can fix it myself?

Try booting into Safe Mode and see if you can log in. If you can download Malwarebytes AntiMalware and do a scan.

If you need step by step how to boot into safe mode see the Tutorials section.

Quick scans have always worked well for me.
I'm not sure this will fix it, but Malwarebyes should ask you before doing anything. I haven't deleted anything unintentionally. It should be one of the safer tools.
