HI folks

How r ya? Ok so i have Windows Photo Gallery and Office 2010 (including MS Picture Manager 2010) installed in my laptop. Office 2010 has new feature to save documents directly as pdf format. Even Microsoft also introduced pdf Add-on for Office 2007 a while ago (probably for Offfice 2003 as well, not sure).

I completely understand that the purpose of Windows Photo Gallery, MS Office Picture Manager 2010 and Paint is to deal with pictures.

Now think this way that how easy or comfortable it would be for the people who wants to operate Scanner function of the printer without manufacturer's heavy user interface/software.

Does anyone knows if Microsoft has introduced/preparing to introduce any Add-on to save as pdf for Windows Photo Gallery, MS Office 2010 and Paint?

P.S.
I dont want to use external pdf creater software available under GPL, Unless the software don't have any interface and only gives an option to save file as pdf at the time of saving it.

If above-mentioned solution is available then;
It would be great if anyone can guide me through the process of extending add-on for pdf from Office 2010 to Windows Photo Gallery, MS Office Picture Manager 2010 and Paint!

Hi,

Do have "Adobe print to pdf" installed on your machine? If so just print directly to that & it will create the pdf file for you!

Here is a free alternative to the issue: -

Hi Lottiemansion

Thanks for your reply. Couple of things i want to make sure.

(1) The Adobe Print Engine advised by you, where can i download that from? Seems there was no download link on that page. I tried to surf on Adobe site but was not able to figured it out whether it is freeware or paid?

(2) Thanks for advising for bullzip software, but as i mentioned in my original thread that i do not want any type of user interface/software with the pdf print engine.

It would be great if you advice/guide/suggest me any other pdf print engine rather than bullzip software.

I going to work now. I might skip posting tonight but tomorrow i will be back for sure.

Once again thanks for your help. hope to hear from you.

Hi,

Niether of the print engines have a front end, you just print to them & a general print screen selection comes up for you to name the file. Even if you use the "Quick print icon in the software & have this select as your default printer you will still have to in-put a file name. Otherwise how will the software know what the file is to be called?

The link I provided to the bullzip print engine is the printer installation file: -

Adobe you will need to have the PDF writer (Standard or Pro) version installed, look here for that: -

PDF writer, create PDF | Adobe Acrobat X Standard

Your choices are "One is free & the other costs"!

Hi Lottiemansion,

I installed Bullzip Pdf printer, recommanded by you. That's exactly what i wanted.

I was just curious coz I used to use PDF creator from PDFCreator | Download PDFCreator software for free at SourceForge.net on my mate's PC and it has an interface as well. Plus whenever I was trying to save documents in pdf, first the software window used to pop-out asking name of the file, once i put the name, second window will pop out from Windows (word, excel, powerpoint....) asking again the name of the file.

And that procedure used to freak me out. Now all fixed up.

Thanks again Lottiemansion for suggesting good freeware.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance.

I hope santa will come with Adobe Acrobat as I couldn't afford that software as an apprentice.

Once again Thank you very much.
